tl;dr

• Starts out slow, which...
• ...I like for the IRL sections of the story. Really drills in the helplessness of KSKN of Peco.
• ...I kinda not like for the in-game sections of the story. Wish more happened here.
• I think the slow pace IS necessary though, for both sections, and the pay-off is nice.

• Just me commenting on the official EN translations given by the OST.

The Story Itself

As mentioned before, the story is split into two parts, the IRL sections and the in-game sections. They swap back and forth before converging at the end.

In the in-game sections of the story, nothing much is happening since KSKN is asleep. And he's really taking his time, causing everyone to worry. There is one message they're trying to communicate here: KSKN matters. A lot. And communicate that message they did through the roster of this game. News and rumors spread fast in Landosol, so KSKN's harem come visit Bishokuden's guildhouse in droves. Both to just see him and take a shot at trying to wake him up. At some point, I think they're just flexing their VA roster, even Kyaru alludes to this.

Nothing bad with this, just something I thought was funny. Again, just wish more happened here.

The IRL sections are where the meat of this story is. KSKN is panicking since everyone he runs into has seemed to forget about Legend of Astrum, until he runs into Peco. The two try to figure things out with Shifuna and Kokoro...until the day suddenly looped back into the beginning. They try again with other girls, and they still keep getting sent back into the beginning. Things change when they run into Yui, and weird shit starts happening in the school.

This is the part I like, I like how they presented the absolute helplessness of KSKN and Peco. A monster shows up! Time to beat them like usual, right? Nope, this is the real world. It goes as well as you expected it to be. Peco tells KSKN to run, but KSKN being KSKN, he refused. As he watches Peco struggle against the monster with the mop, he blames himself, "if only I was stronger". And then, his wish was answered, and Peco transforms into her Overload alt. Sounds like deus ex machina bullshit, right? Maybe, I still like how this has consequences later on as foreshadowed by how Peco was hurting from this power.

Back in Astrum, Kyaru eventually asked Kaiser Insight about KSKN. After some back and forth, Kyaru was told to go to Sol Tower. With Twinkle Wish's guidance, they reach the top, but it seems something they were supposed to find was missing, and monsters started showing up. Starting to struggle because of the sheer number of monsters, the rest of the girls arrive in a "everyone is here" fashion and help fight off the monsters.

Back in real life, the weird shit that happened back in school happened again. But this time, it's not a monster that showed up. It's...you!? KSKN was offered to "take in" Overload Force's power, and he was genuinely tempted, seeing as how helpless he was against the monster. Pecorine urged him not to take it, saying that they can always do the usual thing where he powers the girls up and they do the fighting. And that this power of bonds IS his power, and that it is enough.

And this is where the stories combine. Kyaru called out to KSKN, and her voice reached him. Labyrista then connects the two worlds together, and the final showdown begins...

Sorry that this one is longer than usual. Usually, I'm against making story summaries like this since I want people to read the story themselves, but it feels like...everything is important here.

Difficulty

Notice that I skirted around on the part where weird shit is happening in school? Because that's where Ameth shows up. She's there to answer some questions, and those are:

• Q: Why is this happening? A: Too much bonds, Ameth can't contain them. (?)
• Q: Why is Pecorine here? A: Even Ameth didn't expect her to be here.
• Q: Where did the other people go when monsters are showing up? A: Went somewhere else. (?)

Those are the points that I missed, or didn't fully understand.

Another part I skirted around is when Kyaru confronts Kaiser insight. I understand the mocking the latter did to the former, after all, why would he help the person that took away his supremacy? But I don't understand what he did to Kyaru. At first, it seemed like it was just a sucker attack to tease Kyaru before telling her what to do. But apparently, this is relevant when going up against Overload Force? Kyaru asked Labyrista what happened to "that thing inside me", and Labyrista just told her that not to worry since it was only lent temporarily. What is this "thing"? Overload power? But that came from KSKN. Or her Princess Knight power to control monsters? She did NOT control monsters here during the fight. So...I'm at a loss here.

1960/1969 (99%) comprehension. Count does not include これからも一緒に because the videos don't have subtitles, so I can't get an objective count for it. All the missed lines are from Ameth and Kasier Insight.

All in all, I did manage to comprehend most of the story, but I think the parts I missed are quiet important ones. I would say it's "easy, but...", but if I have to use but, then I definitely had trouble. Compared to I wish, this was definitely harder. Probably because the "important parts" of I Wish is slowly trickled in through Aira's/Hiyori's and Shinatsu's/Rei's conversations instead of being all dumped at once here by Ameth/Kasier.

Translation Differences

In the translated title, the word weave (紡ぐ) is translated as bring. Weave as in weaving strings. So, a "correct" translation would be The Future My Wish Weaves.

The word 僕 is also used, which indicates that it is KSKN's wish. 僕 is the "I" usually used by young males. If used by females, it usually indicates tomboyish-ness (Yuni, Echidna), or that the person is actually just straight up male (Yuki). This is obviously lost in translation, although the title drop is read out by KSKN, so EN players would've still gotten it...if EN had lived long enough.

Some of the tracks in the OST also reveal the EN translation of some of the episode names.

• 幸せを部屋に詰め込んで - Fill the Room with Joy
• あなたのそばにいるから - Because I'm by Your Side
• 絆はここに - Our Bonds Remain

No complaints here, except for This World and Our Bonds Remain.

You know how the story sometimes refers Astrum as "over here" and real life as "over there"? This is basically what's going on in the title, and I think some meaning is lost when it's just translated as "This World". But...this track plays during the IRL sections, so, not sure.

For Our Bonds Remain...isn't the point of the story is that KSKN got so much bonds that it's starting to hurt? I think something like "Our Bonds Are Here" would be better. Referring to the part where everyone gathered up watching KSKN fight Overload Force, and by proxy making the power manageable since it's spread around.

From now on, if there's official EN material for me to compare with (mostly from the OST), I'll take a look at it. In the far future, I plan to do deeper studies on the localization differences of this game. Obviously, this isn't happening anytime soon since I want to consume JP-exclusive contents first, which there are...a lot.
