Just finished the Tribal Spirits event. Well, not exactly. Finished it a few days ago, but I wanted to give some breathing room between my blogposts.

One word: politics. Goddamn it, did this catch me off guard. I thought this event was going to be all about Christina and Matsuri doing dumb shit, but I guess not. I understood what was going on, but of course, I struggled. I suppose it's to be expected when Christina is in the vicinity of beastfolks.

Other than that, I enjoyed Matsuri's "arc" here. Her hypocrisy being called out by the tiger tribe's counselor and her being visibly shaken was a nice moment. I also like that at one point, she realized she wasn't doing anything and immediately went "wait, this is supposed to be MY event" and took the initiative.

I have some problems with Christina in this event, though. While she was a good supporting character towards Matsuri, I think the story tried to bite more than it can chew while trying to give her her own "arc". At the end of the story, we learn that she got her wild outfit from winning a contest in the rabbit tribe village. But, that's pretty much it. We don't see her actually participating and winning, unlike Matsuri where her duel with the tiger tribe chief was actually SHOWN. I also think that the whole Obsidian Golem ordeal was unnecessary. The event boss should've been just the tiger tribe chief. In the story, it's a 1v1 against him and Matsuri so you might think it wouldn't make sense. However, they did manage how to figure out 1v1 bosses in terms of gameplay in the "winter" event, so I think this is just a symptom of this event being older.

Next up, the spring event. I'm actually already halfway through this event, and it seems to be comfy so far. Of course, it's thanks to one character being under the age of 8 and another being under the IQ of 90.
