グランドリーム・オンパレード 宝石兎と秘密の仲間たち

Just finished the Grand Dream Park event.
The event developed in a way I didn't expect. I expected it to focus mainly on the reconstruction on the park, but the reconstruction wasn't really shown and the event mainly focuses on Kururu improving the park by observing her guests (the virtual ride around Astrum for the girl afraid of travelling, the 3d cinema for the 2 friends with a big size difference making it hard for them to play on the same attraction.) This is where I usually would complain about the whole "show don't tell", but I think I prefer it this way. Reading about rebuilding shit would be boring anyways, and the story has a pretty nice justification about how the reconstruction goes so fast; Kururu funds it with her jewels. This is made even better by the fact that the event showed that abusing this does have consequences for Kururu, she passed out from the overuse.
This event was easy to read. Not only there are a lot of repeated words, (遊園地、楽しい and all of its inflections, お客さん), this event takes it a step further by repeating a lot of phrases. Going back to the 2 friends, I'm sure they repeated "they can't play together because of their size difference" like 5 times here. Another example is Kururu's power, they don't really "assign" a word for it so they keep saying "the power to create jewels".
Unfortunately, there is a massive, jarring issue with the Grand Dream Park Guide section. The extra interactions are nice, sure. But the presentation really sapped me out of it.
- i'm going to ride on this attraction!
- screen fades to black
- wow that was fun!
I'm not going to mince word here, this fucking sucks. To their credit, it is fully voiced and the aftermath is shown, like how Inori was flung out, but still. I want to SEE them actually ride the attraction because this game is a, you know, VISUAL novel.
Next up, Little Summer Memories. A summer event with kids? Yeah, I'm going to absolutely crush this.
