tl;dr
The Story Itself
- Saren's and Kyouka's appearance in the event felt weak
- Neneka's, Ranpha's, and Misato's appearance in the event was nice
- Some points in the story made me pull up the Re: Zero wiki
Difficulty
- It's a summer event, what do you expect?
- Only missed the name of the game Emilia suggested. What the hell is にゃんにゃかにゃかにゃん supposed to be?
The Story Itself
Nothing much to say about the story, if you watch the event's trailer, you pretty much have read the entire event already. I mostly read this because I remember the original event being inhumanely long to the point where I struggled to read it even in English. So I figured it'd be a nice endurance challenge, but this event turned out to be standard in length.
Being a collab event, most of the focus is on the Re: Zero crew, which is understandable. But I didn't like how they just made Bishokuden fuck off for half the story. This is probably, no, definitely, my Kokkoro bias speaking. Since this event is all about mommies, I wish at least Kokkoro played a bigger role. Again, I'm extremely biased here.
Speaking of the mommies, let's talk about the other ones. All Saren did here was drop by to say hi, give some advice on how to take care of a child, say she was busy and dipped. The worst part of this is she's just repeating the advice Kokkoro already gave. Well, I guess to be fair good advice just tends to be repeated, but still.

Made even worse in the climax of the event where she just slashed one monster, and then the camera pans to the other mommies. I thought she'd play a bigger role in the event's extra segment (みんなのラジーオタイソー / Everyone's Lazy(?) Exercise), but no, she didn't do much there either. But that's probably because this segment is pretty small in general.
Kyouka. I dislike how they didn't show her playing with the Re: Zero crew. It just went like "let's play", (screen fades to black), "that was fun!" She at least used Cosmo Blue Flash in the climax, which was a neat story-and-gameplay integration. This also tells us that non-serious (by this I mean alts that aren't Princess, Astral, etc) alts are just different outfits since she used her OG self's skill. Does this mean that 6-stars aren't canon? Not too sure, I'm sure Pecorine has used Princess Valiant a few times in the story. Maybe the in-universe KSKN just hasn't unlocked it.
The event was looking pretty weak up to this point, and I can't believe I'm saying this, but the hags redeemed this event. Ranpha, Misato and Echidna got a whole-ass CG here, and they even show you how they took turns to spoonfeed you. I also liked how Ranpha and Misato were the ones who tardwrangled the other babies in the climax.

Neneka. In contrast to Kyouka, I like how they actually showed her how to slowly instruct a baby. And her using her clones to deal with the numerous little monsters in the climax also made sense.
Some Re: Zero terms shown in the event tripped me, but it was nothing a Google search couldn't fix. I was mostly curious about the magic naming convention here. I wondered why Rem sometimes casted just Huma, and sometimes Al Huma. Turns out, it's similar to Final Fantasy where it's about the strength of the magic. Huma, Ul Huma, Al Huma. Fire, Fira, Firaga (and Firaja).
What really surprised me was when Echidna just casually said that being called Dona reminded her of her dead friend.

Naturally, I had to find out who this dead friend is. It was Typhon the witch of pride. Well, that's all I read. I saw the wiki refer to her in past tense, and I figured that was all I needed to know.

The tl;dr covered everything already. 1074/1076 comprehension. And those two missed lines were the ones with にゃんにゃかにゃかにゃん. I know some Japanese traditional game names like Daruma-san Ga Koronda, Onigokko, etc from a certain boss(es) back in Dragalia Lost, but にゃんにゃかにゃかにゃん is apparently not a part of it.

That's all for this blogpost. Honestly, I'm just excited to read Re: member now, kek. See ya on the next blogpost.

My braincells during this event.
